Method of Work

1. Arrival at site, report to required named person and sign in where required.

2. Inspect the work area; ensure safe area around required working space and that clients staff are warned of works and if signage required set up.

3. Using a safe and inspected ladder placed on a non-slip surface (rubber mats if tiled floor etc) enter roof area.

4. In situations where there is no secure handhold and a person may

fall a distance greater than 2 metres, safety harnesses must be

used where practicable.

• Harnesses must only be attached to anchor points that are known to be

capable of taking a person’s weight.

• Inspect all parts of the harness assembly immediately prior to use, and don’t

use it if there are visible signs of wear.

• Don’t allow anyone to work alone when safety harnesses are being worn.

5. Gutter and valley will be cleaned and resealed where necessary.

6. Any waste will be cleaned and removed, the staff will report back to the client.
